The issue I've always had with these closures is that by making the courts further away from the population is that defendants, and witnesses are less likely to attend.
When they closed Ludlow court, we assessed how long it would take to attend the next "local" court which was Telford, and what time you had to leave in order to arrive for 10am solely by public transport. The answer was the night before....
In the "Interests of Justice"! Don't make me laugh!
